Our History
My name is Zofia Stanecka
I arrived in Spain in 2007, after finishing my degree in sociology in Poland, looking for the warmth and joy that was lacking in my home country.
I began studying canine behaviour and education and started working as a trainer, giving classes at home and in parks, like it is usual in this sector.
Over the years I realised that this was not sufficient in order to prepare the families for their lives with a dog. It didn’t provide them with sufficient knowledge and the conditions were also not appropriate to acquire it.

The science behind the humane-canine family
My knowledge about family sociology gave me a comprehensive vision that allowed me to go one step beyond simple dog training that was isolated from the family context. I understood that working with the dog entails working with the family. In order to understand the human-canine relationship it was necessary to know where to place the dog in the system of the family and decode the rules that govern this system.
I felt that something more integral was missing, that truly allowed to prepare the human-canine families for their lives together.
And this was confirmed by the number of families that came to me looking for help for the behaviour problems with their dogs.
Studies abroad
In order to widen my horizon, I looked to continue my education abroad, in Poland and Great Britain. Here I got to know different models of education and canine culture. I worked in big schools that left an impression on me with their structure and great results that they had with their human students and their dogs. And as a direct consequence the positive impact on the cultivation of a canine culture in society.
I reached the conclusion that what the families truly needed in order to learn to understand their dogs and build a healthy and satisfactory relationship was a school, where both dogs and humans could learn.
No more private training in parks
The ideal was a place with the necessary facilities that would guarantee the safety that a dog needs for better learning. A place with classes for the dog and classes for the human, because the way of learning of each is different and both have many things to learn. With a multidisciplinary team of professionals able to help each family with their particularities.
A real school
I founded Can is Cool Centro Canino in 2016 with a well-planned idea: to build an expert entity in canine and family science that you can truly rely on.
I carefully chose my colleagues from the best professional instructors. I can count on an excellent team with highly qualified experts, with extensive international experience in the work with puppies.
Now, after 5 years of work with 1560 human-canine families accompanying them to understand each other mutually and create their happy futures together, we have earned the reputation of the school of reference in Barcelona.
